Kevin B. Meehan, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, and the Associate Director of the Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at LIU, Brooklyn. Dr. Meehan is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA, Div 29 & 39), and an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he is collaborating with his colleagues at the Personality Disorders Institute (PDI) as a researcher and study therapist in evaluating a manualized treatment for borderline personality disorder called Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). His research evaluates self-regulation, social cognition, and interpersonal functioning in both college-age and personality disordered populations. He is a PD/PI of a NIMH-funded multi-site study evaluating disruptions in self-regulation as proximal indicators of suicide (1RF1MH120840) and a Co-Investigator of a NIMH-funded study evaluating social disconnection and suicide in older adults (1R56MH133713)He is an Associate Editor for Psychoanalytic Psychology. He also maintains a private practice in psychotherapy in downtown Brooklyn.
